Our Mission

MDFO’s mission is to support initiatives in Haiti including Disaster Relief in areas of Poverty, Education, Health, Potable Water and Agro-forestry training and practices in certain areas, particularly in Southern Haiti, that were affected by the 2010 earthquake and other natural disasters, through cooperation and partnership with The Marco Depestre Foundation of Haiti.

MDFO Activities

Agro-Forestry Training
We provide small-scale farmers with seedlings of various fruit and forestry plants to preserve and restore areas threatened by land erosion and to improve their revenue

Child Sponsorship – Nutrition Supplement
We give families of malnourished children monthly food supplies

Education
Since 2010 we’ve sponsored an increasing number of students. We offer tuition, nutrition supplements, tutorial support, and school supplies. We have also provided funds for the building and the repair of schools
Health Promotion & Prevention
We promote and provide health aids in schools and during Christmas meal activities

Humanitarian Aid
We assist needy people with essential items such as medications, health care services, clothing, and disaster relief and husbandry

Potable Water
We have provided potable water by building wells, cisterns, water caption systems, and by supplying water filter equipment

Poverty Relief
We provide Christmas meals, dry goods, basic toiletries, and home repairs

Our Logo

The Foundation’s logo represents the coconut tree that has refused to die; it has straightened up and produced fruits anew. ‘With grace and goodwill’, are powerful words used by our pioneer to point out the changes that can take place in every Haitian family, and in our country, if adequate measures are taken.
